The G9K Division Kill were Terran Imperial Army Regiments, during the Great Crusade.[1]

History

They had a considerable reputation as front-line forces and famously maintained an archaic performance-based pay and advancement model for their troopers. The origins for this was said to date back to the prediluvian-era traditions of mercantile-sponsored mercenaries on Terra. The Division Kill's officer ranks included Combat Masters, who wore flak coats and quilted tank driver's caps. Combat Masters also had First Class rank as well, but a Division Kill trooper had to have years of considerable active service to achieve it. Below them were the Regiments' Eliters, who wore long dusters over semi-powered combat suits and below them were the ranks of Second-classers.[1]

Several of the G9K Division Kill's Regiments served in the 40th Expedition Fleet, which saw them fight together with the Death Guard, be saved by the Blood Angels on one of the moons of Fraemium and work together with the White Scars to cleanse Xenos on X173 Plural. They also aided the 40th with attacking the Craftworld Thuyelsa and later the Olamic Quietude. However in both instances, the Expedition Fleet was forced to call upon help from the Space Wolves, in order to achieve victory over their foes. When the Legion's Tra Company came to help them in their invasion of the Olamic Quietude's Homeworld though, the Space Wolves requested that the Imperial Army forces leave the world. They were outraged by this, but the 40th Expedition Fleet's commander agreed to the request and ordered the Imperial Army to withdraw. The Division Kill Regiments were especially saddened and angered by this, as they had lost seventeen hundred troopers over the course of a single day of the attack. A loss that to them, now felt like a waste and one that the Division Kill would not be able personally avenge.[1]
